Adaptive Dance Class
SWBT celebrates the opportunity to teach dancers of all abilities.
Ages 5-17; intake form and post-registration interview are required
Classes Run August 7, 2023 – May 19, 2024
Southwest Ballet Theatre is thrilled to offer an all-inclusive adaptive dance class mirroring Boston Ballet Company’s successful program.
The adaptive class is available to any individual with special needs between the ages of 5 to 17. The class promotes self-expression and improvisation skills while focusing on creative movement, bilateral coordination, balance, and rhythm.
An intake form and in-person interview are required after registration. Caregiver attendance is to be determined at the discretion of the instructors.
The Adaptive Dance Class is taught by our highly qualified teaching staff.
Sydney Walker is certified in Adaptive Dance by the Boston Ballet Company.
Melissa Marshall is a ballet dancer and Pediatric Physical Therapist with 20+ years of PT experience and 11 years of ballet instruction experience.

A dress code allows our dancers to develop the spirit of the corps de ballet. Corps de ballet is a French phrase for “body of the ballet” which refers to the ensemble of dancers moving in unison. This sense of unity begins in the classroom and continues on the stage.
