Summer Intensive & Classes

We are excited to announce our summer intensive schedule! Students will have the opportunity to focus on developing as well-rounded dancers with an emphasis on classical ballet technique. Classes will include:

  • Progressing Ballet Technique** (Levels 2 and 3 – see equipment requirements below)
  • Ballet technique, including pointe or pre-pointe
  • Character
  • Conditioning
  • Variations
  • Tap (Levels 1 and 2)
  • Jazz (Levels 1 and 2)
  • Contemporary (Level 3)

Space is extremely limited in order to give dancers more individualized attention.

Intensive – July 19-22:

Level 1 (Ages 6 to 9) – cost $76 ($85 after May 31st)

Classes – June 2-July 14

Must preregister for classes.

Preprimary (Ages 3 to 6) – cost $15 per class or $84 for all 7 classes

      Wednesdays 9:00 – 9:45 AM

Open Adult Ballet – cost $15 per class or $90 for all 7 classes

      Wednesdays 10:00 – 11:00 AM

All classes will take place at Effusion Dance Center, 3810 S. Estrella Parkway, Ste. 309, Goodyear.
**What is Progressing Ballet Technique? PBT is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program that enhances students’ technique by focusing on training the muscle memory required in each exercise in all forms of dance. SWBT will provide some equipment for this class but dancers in levels 2 and 3 will need to bring the following:

  • yoga mat
  • exercise ball (when you sit on the ball your knees should be bent at a 90-degree angle and your thighs should be parallel with the floor)
  • Height: under 4’8”, recommend a 45 cm ball
  • Height: 4’8” to 5’3”, recommend a 55 cm ball
  • Height: 5’4” to 5’10”, recommend a 65 cm ball
  • soft stability ball, pilates soft ball, or soft toy ball (about 9” diameter or 22” circumference)

Dress Code

Male – black tights, shorts, white t-shirt, black ballet shoes. Hair neatly combed or in a pony tail.
Female – solid color leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, pointe shoes (level 3), tap shoes (level 1 and 2), jazz shoes (optional), character shoes and full skirt for character class (optional). Hair in a neat bun.
