Summer dance training is a great time to keep in shape and improve your technique and artistry, continuing the growth and progress made throughout the year.

Classes: June 5 – July 20

Classes are available for dancers ages 3 years to adult.

Primary (ages 3 – 5)

Must be 3 years old by June 1st

June 13: Storybook Ballet Class (ages 6–7)

Class time will include: Ballet, Story, Coloring, and Choreography.

Intensives: July 10 – 13 & July 17 – 20

SWBT’s Intensives will allow dancers to gain strength, flexibility, and muscle memory in a shorter amount of time, while also improving artistry and technique.

Level 1 (ages 8 – 9)

Must be 8 years old by June 1st.

Classes will include: Classical Ballet technique, Jazz, and Contemporary.

Additional Information

Cost: Two weeks $100; One week $60; Daily drop-in $35.
Register by June 15th and receive a 10% discount.

(Females) Solid color leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, character shoes and full skirt for Sevillana class (optional). Hair in a neat bun.
(Males) Black tights, shorts, white t-shirt, black ballet shoes. Hair neatly combed or in a pony tail.

 

Level 2 (ages 10 – 12)

Must be 10 years old by June 1st.

Classes will include: Classical Ballet technique, Progressing Ballet Technique, Flamenco, Character, Jazz, Modern, Yoga, Contemporary.

Equipment for Progressing Ballet Technique — 
SWBT will provide some equipment for this class, but dancers will need to bring the following:

  • Yoga mat
  • Exercise ball (when you sit on the ball your knees should be bent at a 90-degree angle and your thighs should be parallel with the floor)
    Height: under 4’8”, recommend a 45 cm ball
    Height: 4’8” to 5’3”, recommend a 55 cm ball
    Height: 5’4” to 5’10”, recommend a 65 cm ball
  • Soft stability ball, pilates soft ball, or soft toy ball (about 9” diameter or 22” circumference)

Additional Information

Cost: Two weeks $220; One week $130; Daily drop-in $35-70, depending on the day.
Register by June 15th and receive a 10% discount.

Dress Code:

ABT® National Training Curriculum

Southwest Ballet Theatre is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 9 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Level 1 through Level 5 will be taught by ABT® Certified Teacher, Tasha Stramecki, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 5 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
