Adaptive Dance Class

SWBT celebrates the opportunity to teach dancers of all abilities.

Classes Run August 10, 2026 – May 15, 2027

Southwest Ballet Theatre is thrilled to offer an all-inclusive adaptive dance class mirroring Boston Ballet Company’s successful program.

The adaptive class is available to any individual with special needs between the ages of 5 to 18 (young adults up to age 21 may be allowed at the discretion of the School Director).

The Adaptive program began in 2022 and was developed by Sydney Arriaga (certified in Adaptive Dance by Boston Ballet Company) and Melissa Marshall (Pediatric Physical Therapist).

The class promotes self-expression and improvisation skills while focusing on creative movement, bilateral coordination, balance, and rhythm.
An intake form is required after registration. Caregiver attendance is to be determined at the discretion of the instructors.

The Adaptive Dance Class is taught by our highly qualified teaching staff.
Melissa Marshall is a ballet dancer and Pediatric Physical Therapist with 20+ years of PT experience and 13 years of ballet instruction experience.
